Precautionary Notes for Glycolic Peels
 
 
  • Do not use if you are pregnant or lactating
 
  • Do not use if you have a tendency to cold sores or fever blisters
 
  • Do not use if you have had recent facial surgeries
 
  • Do not use if you have skin allergies or very sensitive skin
 
  • If you suffer from Rosacea, you must be careful applying the peel.  You may want to reduce the time that the peel is left on. Start out with a few minutes and see how your skin does. If it is turning red, rinse the peel off with a washcloth using cool water and neutralize immediately.
 
  • Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes
 
  • Retin-A/ Renova or Differin  and hormone replacement use should be discontinued five days prior to a peel and five days post treatment
 
  • Microdermabrasion should be stopped five days prior to a peel and five days post treatment because of potential irritation
 
  • Do not have electrolysis, collagen injections, Botox, facial waxing or use depilatories for approximately five days after treatment
 
  • Although complications are very rare, sometimes they may occur and prompt treatment is necessary.  In the event of any complications, you must contact a doctor immediately 
 
  • You must refrain from tanning in tanning booths while undergoing treatment and during the 14 days following the end of the treatment
  •  
  • Avoid direct sun exposure 5 days prior and 5 days following a glycolic peel.  The use of sunblock protection with a minimum of SPF 30 is mandatory
 
Caution:  Do not use the glycolic peel if you have a sunburn on your face.
